Tummy Tuck in Fayetteville, NC

A tummy tuck is an ideal procedure for men or women looking to firm and tighten their abdominal region. By eliminating excess skin and fat, patients enjoy a toned appearance. Cape Fear Aesthetics offers tummy tucks to residents of Cape Fear, Sanford, Raleigh, Cary and the surrounding areas of North Carolina.

What is a Tummy Tuck?

A tummy tuck, also called an abdominoplasty, is a body sculpting procedure designed to firm and tone the abdomen. By eliminating excess skin and tightening the abdominal muscles, patients can achieve a contoured abdomen and increase their muscle definition. Like liposuction, a tummy tuck is not a weight loss procedure. It is intended to help patients sculpt their body and achieve a more contoured physique. This is an ideal treatment for patients looking for a body sculpting treatment that can address their entire abdomen area. For patients looking for more subtle results, we also offer mini tummy tucks.

What is a Mini Tummy Tuck?

A mini tummy tuck is similar to a traditional tummy tuck, but is best suited for patients looking for body sculpting results just below the belly button. With a mini tummy tuck, we are able to use a smaller incision to minimize scarring. Patients also enjoy a slightly quicker recovery from a mini tummy tuck. However, patients looking for more dramatic body sculpting results may be better candidates for a traditional tummy tuck.

What is the Tummy Tuck Procedure Like?

Your specific tummy tuck procedure will be determined during your consultation with Dr. Edward Dickerson. We will take all of your personal goals into account to determine the best method of treatment for you. Tummy tucks are performed under general anesthesia to ensure patient comfort throughout the surgery. The surgery involves an incision along the pubic hairline, through which we remove excess skin and tighten the abdominal muscles. This method will vary slightly if you choose a mini tummy tuck, during which a smaller incision will be made. A tummy tuck procedure can take up to two hours, but may take longer depending on the amount of work necessary.

How is Recovery After a Tummy Tuck?

Since the procedure requires work on the muscles, recovery for abdominoplasty is rather significant. Surgical drains will be in place requiring daily maintenance. You will be required to wear a tight abdominal binder for two to six weeks and return to full activity will be allowed after six weeks. After your procedure, we will provide you with specific post-operative instructions and prescribe you with any medications necessary to ensure a speedy and comfortable recovery.

How Much Does a Tummy Tuck Cost?

At Cape Fear Aesthetics, we try our best to keep our services affordable to our patients.
