This effective treatment relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles in the face to deliver a more youthful appearance. The most commonly treated areas are frown lines, forehead creases, and crow's feet near the eyes. There are numerous off-label uses as well.
At Cape Fear Aesthetics we offer multiple types of botulinum toxin injections: Botox®, Xeomin® and Jeuveau®.
Our qualified physician and nurse injectors will decide where to administer the toxin by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your face. He or she will let you ice the area with a cold pack before and after for comfort. After your injection, you will be scheduled for a two-week follow-up.
(12-20 units for females and 22-38 for men)
Botox, Xeomin or Jeuveau are used to smooth the horizontal lines on the forehead. For best results, we often treat the frown lines at the same time.
(18-30 units for females and 28-40 for men)
Also known as scowl lines, the glabella can be treated by Botox, Xeomin or Jeuveau to smooth those lines and create a more refreshed look.
Lower eyelids (Jelly Roll)
Jelly roll toxin treatments are used to open the eyes and get rid of the “roll” underneath the eye when you smile. It will reduce the “puffy” look.
What are Botox®, Xeomin® and Jeuveau®?
These products are all Botulinum toxins, which are a purified substance that's derived from bacteria. Injections of botulinum toxin block the nerve signals to the muscle in which it was injected. Without a signal, the muscle is not able to contract. The end result is diminished unwanted facial wrinkles or appearance.

There is no downtime or recovery period following your Botox®, Xeomin® and Jeuveau® treatment. Some patients may experience mild swelling or redness due to the injections, but this is a natural effect of treatment that typically fades on its own within a few days.
