Neck Lift

In essence, a necklift is part of a regular facelift (see facelift). Some surgeons describe a neck lift as a mini facelift but essentially, most of the same incisions are required to access the neck. This operation is done in an effort to tighten sagging skin and reduce fat in the neck region in an effort to return the patient’s neck to a youthful appearance. In this operation, excess skin is trimmed, muscle in the neck is tightened and many times fat is removed as well. This operation is usually done in conjunction with a regular facelift but may be done as a completely separate procedure if necessary. The recovery for this operation is very similar to that of a facelift. (See facelift). This procedure is done in the office under light sedation and local anesthesia.
